Yolo.

For the longest time, whenever I’d see someone’s status on Facebook say “YOLO!!” or hear someone say it in passing, I thought they were giving a shout out to Yolo County, home of my dear alma mater UC Davis and the 24 hour Super Walmart. Then I would be confused because Davis and Super Walmart aren’t normally things that often warrant a shout out. I mean, they are cool but not THAT cool. But then I remembered that lately people have been really into wearing neon rags for clothes and getting drunk off of hand sanitizer so basically, anything is possible.

Turns out, YOLO actually is an acronym for “You only live once”.

And now you know.

This is what 8 years of Mandarin class looks like

(Below is a snippet of a gchat with a pal in regards to our Saturday night plans. We both took many years of Mandarin classes, including 4 years straight of Monday-Friday classes. Sorry CCS. Obviously we did not pay attention during the pinyin lessons. Haha!)

Things I have enjoyed as of late.

1. Booty jiggy with my favorite Korean fellow.

2. Puppies pretending to be Mrs. & Mr. Claus.

3. Party nails. (FESTIVE!)

4. Walls packed with kitchen gadgets.

Huzzah.

Life is glorious. And I am blessed. (Thanks, Jesus.) 

1. Shark attack behind the office / 2. Lunch dates are my favorite. Especially when they involve ramen. And good company.

3. Sweet baby Marlow, with a teddy bear nose and polar bear paws. So cute it hurts / 4. Fun factoid: each square packet of pop rocks is 1/8 oz. And now you know.

5. Shoe aftermath at Tough Mudder / 6. I am the queen of the Wii bowlings.

It’s decorative gourd season, suckers.

And scarves-around-your-neck-while-stepping-on-crunchy-leaves season. Which turns into Love Actually / Elf season. And then it is magnolia blossom season. Yessss! There is much to be falalalala about, kids.

PS. Excuse the profanity but it is so hilarious.

You know what is a great feeling?

When you picture something in your head a million times and what actually happens in real life is better than you could have ever imagined.
